Juan Carlos Arouesty was born in Mexico City in 1972. He attended law school at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City (admitted in 1999). In the years 2001 to 2002, Mr. Arouesty studied and obtained an LLM in Comparative Law (LLMC) at the University of San Diego, CA. In 2002, Mr. Arouesty took coursework on European Community Law at Magdalen College in Oxford, England and on International Contracts at the University of Barcelona, Spain


Juan Carlos Arouesty began his practice in 1994. Before founding Quintana Arouesty in 2006, Mr. Arouesty was an associate for 12 years with Noriega y Escobedo, A.C. one of Mexico's leading firms. In 2005, he joined Thacher Proffitt & Wood, S.C., practicing in the energy, corporate and real estate practice areas.
Mr. Arouesty’s experience includes advising foreign corporations and their Mexican subsidiaries, as well as Mexican groups, in the following areas:

Public and private bidding processes, including processes related to governmental procurement (public works, acquisition of assets and contracting of services), privatizations, and concessions. |

Real Estate transactions |
In the real estate practice area, Mr. Arouesty has developed and implemented residential-tourism real estate structures for real estate developments known as “fractional ownership”, a concept recently introduced into the Mexican market among developers, and has advised transnational companies on large scale real estate lease and acquisition projects, as well as the financing process for the acquisition thereof.
